What we expect from you
  • Responsible for advanced level financial record keeping of a difficult, complex nature.
  • Work involves full responsibility for maintaining and operating a set of general books of account or set of accounts, including subsidiary ledgers, using automated systems.
  • Supervision will be exercised over the work of a small number of junior bookkeepersBuild relationships with entrepreneurs and assist clients with daily business decisions
  • Own the end to end client experience for a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Manage client communications via phone, email, chat, and more.
  • Advocate for our client’s needs; you’re the one with a finger on the pulse.
  • Answer or direct accounting-related questions to support our clients through all the challenges they face as they grow their businesses.
  • Work closely within and across teams to provide seamless best-in-class support to our clients.
What you will be doing day to day
  • Maintains and operates a complete and systematic set of general books, including subsidiary ledgers, in accordance with a prescribed system of accounts;
  • Classifies a wide variety of receipts and expenditures and distributes items according to a prescribed code;
  • Compiles and analyze a variety of complex accounting and statistical information to prepare financial and statistical reports;
  • Review and and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency for clients
  • Assist in budget preparation for clients
  • Assist with audit of clients
  • Prepare financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflows for clients
  • Review financial statements prepared by junior bookkeepers and send to clients
  • Handle tax complications of clients
  • Maintain communications with tax authorities and pension regulators on clients related issues
  • Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A passion for working with clients-- helping them succeed, and building strong and long-lasting relationships with them.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (Quickbooks, Xero, Zohobooks).
  • Familiarity with modern work tools like Atlassia, Click-up, Slack, Hubdoc, Google Drive etc.
  • Great listening skills, honed-in to figure out how you can best support clients while also collecting important feedback to help guide the executive team
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to stay extremely organized in a crazy-fast moving environment
  • Strong research skills to figure out answers to questions you don’t already know.
  • Phenomenal teamwork skills! We are a team through-and-through, and our success is entirely dependent on working together
  • Team player and good leadership skills
  • Ability to work with entrepreneurs from different countries and time-zones
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Partly qualified accountant – ACCA, ICA, CPA
  • Working knowledge of accounting theory and principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong client-facing or communication skills required.
